T20 WORLD CUP
CLOSING CEREMONY
Celebrating Cultural Unity at the T20 World Cup Closing Ceremony
We had the privilege of creatively directing the T20 World Cup closing ceremony. Our goal was clear: craft a 9-minute extravaganza that would unite cultures from around the world.
The star-studded lineup featured Icehouse, performing live hits like "Great Southern Land" and "We Come Together," alongside Mitch Tambo in First Nations language, and talents like Janaki Easwer and Thando Sikwila from The Voice.
To bring this vision to life, we enlisted over 65 global performers, representing 16 countries, showcasing the rich tapestry of cultures within the World Cup.
During the grand finale, 240 volunteers proudly held flags, symbolizing the unity of cricket on a global scale.
This incredible journey was made possible by our dedicated extended team, with a special shoutout to Choreographer Leah Howard, whose expertise in choreography, mass movement, and staging was instrumental.
Watching this five-month project culminate in a spectacular celebration of unity and culture was truly unforgettable. This case study highlights our ability to transform a global event into a mesmerizing showcase of diversity and togetherness.
“Creating an inclusive worldy performance with Iconic band Icehouse, sung in language by Mitch Tambo, and mixing the new found talent of Thando and Janaki and over 400 flag bearers was the prefect soundtrack for this performance. Kicking off with Digeridoo player William Barton on top of the MCG was definitely a career highlight for Fernando”
